For 2019-20, EOB Cares has chosen Heartland Animal Shelter, which was founded in 2002 by Dr. Herbert Preiser in order to save the lives of pets who would otherwise be euthanized. This dedicated staff rescues dogs and cats in order to give them the medical care, emotional support, behavioral help, and TLC they need. Most importantly, they find them the forever homes they deserve.
Together, we can lend a hand to move along programs Heartland Animal Shelter works so hard to maintain like the Dr. Do More Fund; a program used to treat animals who need specialized medical or behavioral care and rehabilitation. For example, Esther, a Spaniel/Dachshund mix puppy, was born with backwards twisted front legs. Because of this program, Esther was able to not only receive the surgery she needed but has since been adopted into a loving home. This is only one of the various programs designed to give these wonderful animals another chance at life.
